Sakaya Hanare brings a new offering of Japanese-Western style apartments for families in the heart of Nozawa Onsen. Formerly the popular Jon Nobi hotel, these villas were newly built for the 20/21 ski season.
Each townhome at Sakaya Hanrare comprises three bedrooms plus loft space. Each bedroom has Western-style bedding (which can be twin or double beds) and in the loft there are traditional futon mattresses. They are perfect for families and sleep up to 8 people total. Each villa will feature multiple bathrooms and self-contained facilities for added convenience.
The living space has a lovely Japanese feel to it thanks to the tatami matting in the living area. This does mean there are no couches, so you need to sit on the floor Japanese style. As they say... when in Rome. At least there are a couple of bean-bags and scatter pillows for lazing around on and a small single hammock. The full kitchen has most appliances you need to cook a full dinner and there is a small dining table. Each unit has a washer/dryer.
Unique in Japan, Sakaya Hanare will offer a unisex jacuzzi for guests (rather than a traditional onsen), plus a small restaurant/cafe. It is ideally located in the middle of Nozawa Onsen, within walking distance to local supermarket, restaurants, and shops. The Yu-Road travelator is a short walk away to whisk guests up to the ski resort base.
