Modern and luxurious, the Kookaburra Lodge is a fantastic option for those that want to be near the center of the village yet far enough to enjoy a peaceful and quiet stay. Kookaburra is a relatively new condominium style building that was developed by an Australian, hence the name (a Kookaburra is a native Australian bird). It is designed to make you feel you are staying in an urban modern condominium nestled in beautiful mountain village.
Kookaburra Lodge offers one, two and three bedroom + loft condos that are luxurious, spacious and functional. The units are individually owned and furnished however most are done in a relatively modern urban style and were designed for longer stays. Scout loves the units on the 4th floor which have high ceilings and lofts. The units have views of the woods and rivers, and Scout recommends the units facing the forest for its peaceful views. All of the units except for the one-bedroom units feature a private hot tub on the balcony. All the units feature a well-stocked and equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, TV/DVD, a sofa bed, dining table, and an electric fireplace which Scout thinks was placed more for the ambiance than functionality.
Although the Kookaburra Lodge is just a stone’s throw away from numerous dining options and bars, it has an on-site restaurant and bar called the Voyageur Bistro. It also has an on-site spa and offers massage services for those who want to relax. Overall, Kookaburra Lodge is a great pick for its proximity to the slopes and its distance to the center of the village.
