Firelight Lodge is a fantastic luxury lodge in Silver Star Village. The lodge has a modern urban feel to it and the generous use of pale wood instead of pine is a refreshing change from most other ski village properties.
Firelight Lodge is not right in the center of the village and it will take you a 3-5 minute walk across the parking lot to reach the village. Although some guests might find the lodge’s location a little inconvenient in relation to the village, it is close to the Silver Queen chair. You can also ski close to the lodge by the Alpine Meadows’s chair and the bridge across the road. The location of the lodge is fantastic for families with kids as there are numerous activities your kids will enjoy just a few steps from the lodge, such as the Adventure Center, and tubing hill. The Adventure Center features a natural ice skating pond which has trees lit up at night so it creates a very charming feel, especially when the kids start roasting some s’mores during the nightly bonfire.
Firelight lodge has different types of accommodations ranging from Studios to Three-Bedroom Premium units. The studios consist of a king or queen bed, a gallery kitchen and TV/DVD. The studios can be adjoined to a One-Bedroom Suite to form a Two Bedroom Premium Suite. A step up from the studios are the Bachelor Suites which are bigger than the Studio and feature a kitchen, breakfast bar with two stools, a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa, and laundry facilities. There are also Bachelor suites with their own private outdoor hot tub. The One-Bedroom to Three-Bedroom units are another step up. They’re spacious and comfortable and the urban modern style feels more livable, albiet very... well... brown. Lots of brown.
Other amenities in Firelight Lodge includes a shared hot tub on the rooftop, shared BBQ grilling area plus fire pit, and ski lockers and waxing room. All the premium units are equipped with their own private hot tub which Scout loves.
