You cannot get any more centrally located than the 4-star Art Boutique Hotel Monopol which is situated right in the heart of St Moritz Dorf. It is a fairly simple hotel, but great quality and a decent size. It's perfect for a stay in St Moritz if you want to get out often and enjoy everything St Moritz has to offer, including the skiing.
As the name suggests, art is a bit of a feature at Art Boutique Monopole with plenty of avante gard and pop art works scattered around the hotel. this makes it a bit unique and fun for St Moritz. The hotel is only a short walk up to the Chantarella train that takes you straight up to the Corviglia ski area. We would call the style of this hotel simple and modern, but be aware that some of the furnishings are dated, particularly in the unrenovated rooms.
There's a range of rooms, 73 in total, right from Economy and Single rooms, to large suites. Scout would recommend any of the rooms from the Superior Double rooms and upwards, because they will be more recently renovated, have a bit more storage room, and start at 23 m2. (The Standard Economy, and Single rooms are a bit small, 15m2 to 18m2, and outdated). Of course, the Deluxe suite is quite impressive, with a living room, 60 m2 floor space, and views of the mountains and rooftops of St Moritz. Most rooms don’t have mountain or lake views – most look directly on to other buildings, the town area, and pedestrian streets.
The service at Art Boutique Hotel Monopol is personal and friendly and breakfast is included in the rate. The hotel restaurant, called Mono, serves Italian-Mediterranean cuisine. It is possible to do half board, which is a five course dinner. The spa area is on the topmost floor of the hotel and gets the best views. It has a hot tub with a fantastic view of the mountains, overlooking St Moritz. It also has a terrace, a small fitness room, various saunas, showers, jets and massage and beauty treatments.
