Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa is a simple lodge-style hotel situated on the Main Street, so you're super close to the fantastic restaurants and bars of Banff.
The hotel was renovated a few years ago and boasts comfortable modern style of furnishings. Designers went with a bright green and yellow colour schemes with photographs of nature on the walls. Some may argue that it feels a little dated and depending on the direction they are facing some rooms can feel quite dark. Standard rooms face the inside of the hotel courtyard (and therefore other buildings), however they are private and no one can walk past the windows. Meanwhile, the Superior rooms face the outside of the building. If you prefer sunlight, opt for a room facing Banff Avenue. (These rooms also give you the potential for mountain glimpses). However these rooms do get a bit of noise from the street. If you would prefer a little more peace, the rooms at the back of the property are quieter (especially those away from the loading dock) but the tradeoff is they get less light.
Located on the fourth floor, the Deluxe loft rooms have a loft sleeping area plus a separate living room with a gas fireplace. They even have their own Jacuzzi bath so you can take a relaxing soak to soothe your ski muscles. Scout loves these rooms in particular for small families and those staying a little longer.
The Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa boasts great on-site facilities including an indoor pool and steam room, fitness centre, full service Red Earth Spa, and The Keg Steakhouse - a wonderful choice for an easy and hearty family dinner. If you're having a late start, breakfast is also quite good here.
Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa is a great value option for families and couples, who seek easy access to downtown Banff and the local ski resorts.
