Le Morgane is a modern style hotel in Chamonix that has undergone a fairly recent renovation. It is a boutique, four star hotel with a very urban design element. Think lots of mid century, modern furniture, the use of a lot of grays, beige, and white and wood, with a bit of color, here and there. The hotel is located a short walk from the heart of Chamonix, and all its restaurants and bars.
Hotel Le Morgane has just 56 guest rooms which is on the larger size for a boutique hotel. Some of these hotel rooms have views of Brévent and Mont Blanc from balconies. For the style and price, the rooms (and in particular the bathrooms) are on the smaller side, with the Single rooms being just 18 m2, and Standard rooms at 20 m2, but this is not unusual for Chamonix. If you need a little more space, you can always select to have a Junior suite or a Deluxe room. The Junior suites have a small living area, lounge area with a sofa bed, and balcony. All rooms have tea or coffee facilities, hair drier, WiFi, satellite TV, safe, bathrooms with separate toilets, and a balcony.
There is a very smart restaurant in the hotel called Le Bistrot. With a cuisine described as simple and inventive cuisine, it is a favorite of many guests.
Hotel Le Morgane offers a free on-demand shuttle to the lifts in central Chamonix and around the town, so you don't need public transport (unless you want to explore Chamonix's outer areas). It is about a ten minute walk or a few blocks to the main street of Chamonix, and less than a minute's walk to the Aiguille du Midi cable car station.
This hotel is definitely great for couples who want a modern, luxurious atmosphere and don’t need lots of space. There's a funky, cool vibe to the hotel. The nice spa area includes a small pool, Jacuzzi jets, a steam room, sauna, and a beauty treatment room. This cool wellness area is in the basement, so they have used colorful lights to counter the fact that there are no windows. There is a library area with a lounge area, and a bar where you can get a drink in the evening. A ski shop in front of the hotel does rentals. During school holidays, the hotel provides a children's play area.
