Hotel Schweizerhof, St Moritz is a four star Swiss style hotel located right in the center of St Moritz Dorf. It’s a great hotel and a good alternative for those who don’t want (or can’t afford!) the glitz and glamour of the nearby 5 star hotels. It has great service and everything is a decent size including the rooms. A lot of the rooms and the main dining room have exceptional views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
The rooms at Hotel Schweizerhof are simply decorated, but certainly comfortable. They range in size and style from tiny 13 m2 Economy rooms through to big suites. We highly recommend getting a room with a view of the valley and lake even though they command a more premium price than those that face the town. The rooms are simple but adequate, well maintained, and in a clean style with red, blue, wood and white colors.
The Schweizerhof Hotel has several restaurants. A generous buffet breakfast is included in the room rates and is served in the main dining room, which also serves dinners for those on half board. They offer top quality cuisine at decent prices. Scout's favorite dining option would be Restaurant Acla, where you can't miss the famous local Schnitzel. There's also a few bars in the basement area, including a piano bar where you can sip champagne or cocktails and listen to live music. Le Hall, is where you can enjoy an aperitif in the afternoon or after dinner. Downstairs, is the Stübli, a popular pub style bar, renowned for its live guitar music and is also a favorite of Scout.
There is a rooftop wellness area, which includes great views over the lake on a sunny terrace. The wellness area isn't huge, it's just limited to saunas and steam bath. However, if its a sunny day, you can lay back in the relaxation room, which has great views and is indoors, as well. If it really takes your fancy, you can have the spa's health check, a massage, and a special workout routine, provided in collaboration with Gut training, from the renowned Gut Clinic. Whether that actually means your gut, or “good”, we're not quite sure. But perhaps, after all the eating and drinking you'll be doing in St Moritz, a check up and workout might not be a bad idea.
