Kizuna is a stylish apartment property in Upper Hirafu that delivers plenty of comfort without the price tag of Niseko’s newest luxury developments. It sits one street behind Hirafu-zaka, placing restaurants, bars, shops and ski services within easy walking distance while remaining relatively quiet at night.
The building contains just ten apartments across seven floors. Interiors are contemporary and comfortable, with full kitchens, private washer/dryers and separate living and dining areas. Many of the living rooms (particularly from the penthouse apartment) have ringside views of Mt Yotei through floor-to-ceiling windows, adding to the high-end feel of the apartments.
Kizuna is around a five-minute walk from the ski area, although snowy roads and ski boots can make the journey feel longer. An on-demand ski shuttle makes getting to and from the slopes easier, while secure ski storage is available back at the building. Equipment rental, lessons and lift-ticket services are also within a short walk.
There is no restaurant, spa or onsen inside Kizuna, but plenty of dining options and a nearby onsen are only a couple of minutes away. Complimentary arrival and departure transfers are provided between Kizuna and the Hirafu Welcome Center, which is a welcome touch after the airport bus. Limited parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kizuna is best suited to independent travellers wanting a well-equipped apartment, a central Upper Hirafu location and good value without paying for extensive hotel facilities.
