La Perla Hotel in the center of Corvara has a wonderful sense of traditional Italian charm with its quaint alpine style, delicious cuisine, friendly staff and elegant bedrooms. This hotel is one of Scout's favourites for so many reasons and is an example of how a charming, traditional hotel can at the same time ooze sophistication and luxury.
The moment you walk in the door you know you are in a special place. Attentive and friendly staff take care of your every need and the lobby and surrounding areas feel elegant and homely. We just love the attention to detail in the amazing decorations all over the hotel, complete with endless decorations of fresh flowers. It feels like you've walked into the mountain villa of a wealthy Italian family who welcome you into their arms like long lost friends.
La Perla offers several different room types from simple single rooms to romantic rooms each with their own unique touches to give you an insight into alpine life. In keeping with the theme of the hotel, they are all decorated in traditional Tyrolean style furnishings - wooden beams, antique rugs and carved furniture complete the look. A few rooms have a slightly more modern edge, but it's the more traditional rooms we love and that are perfect for a romantic escape. There are 52 rooms in total, those facing south look over the mountains while those facing north have views of the Sassonger mountain.
With a great range of bar and restaurant facilities on site, even those who aren’t staying half-board will have the opportunity to enjoy some tasty Mediterranean and South Tyrolean cuisine. Whether you want a laid-back Stube (Traditional Austrian style restaurant) or a classy Michelin star restaurant you won't be disappointed with what's on offer. If you're a bit of a wine buff you will enjoy a visit to the cellar which features 27,000 bottles.
The spa at La Perla is a place of serenity and features a swimming pool with grotto like waterfalls, a Turkish bath, sauna and the full service spa even features massage treatments using wine to help you relax.
The hotel has its own apres night club in a building next door, should you feel like a bit of a party.
