Located right in the village of Silver Star, Silver Creek Lodge is a terrific choice if you want to be close to the center of everything. Skiers will love its proximity to the lifts and village, although it might be a little tiring for guests who are not that agile to traverse the two small hills, but there is a shuttle that leaves every thirty minutes. Some of the areas of the lodge such as the lobby, reception area and some units have been recently renovated.
The units are individually owned and furnished so no unit looks the same. However all the units are very spacious and comfortable, even if some of them are a little dated in their furnishings. Scout recommends the studio units for couples because it is quite big compared to the other studio units in the area. The One-Bedroom units do not have a proper bedroom as it is only a sliding door that separates it from the living area. All the Studios and One-Bedroom units have a small alcove with a child-size bunk bed making it great for families who don’t need a lot of room and are looking for great value. All units have a sleeper sofa, TV/DVD, a living area, dining area, a gas fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen and a balcony. The units facing the front and those on the top floor have great views of the village, valley, mountain and a fantastic sunrise view.
Scout loves the two hot tubs on the rooftop with a great view, although it can be a little bit crowded during the peak season. If you do not want to miss your daily exercise, the lodge even has a fitness room where you can sweat it out. It also has an on-site shared laundry facility at your disposal.
Silver Creek Lodge is definitely not flashy and fancy; accommodations are simple but comfortable, and provide the “basics” for you to enjoy your stay.
